BN Ghosh Memorial Award

The Indian Ceramic Society, Jamshedpur Chapter presents the biennial B. N. Ghosh Memorial Young Refractory Technologist Award in honour of the late Mr. B.N. Ghosh, sir, to recognise and reward young professionals in the field of refractory manufacturing, research, application, and services.

The award would be presented during the inaugural session of ICRJ 2026.

Deadline for submission of nominations: 15th November 2025

Criteria for nominations to the award are as below:

  • The senior management from the refractory division of any field nominates one person from their group. Only one entry from an organisation is allowed.
  • Self-nomination is disallowed.
  • The candidate must be a graduate with more than 10years (as on 01-01-2026) of work experience in the field of Refractory manufacturing/research/application and services.
  • Should have significant contribution in technology development / refractory management / refractory engineering.
  • Must be less than 40yrs of age as on 01-01-2026.
  • Should preferably be an active contributor/ participant of ICS/IRMA activities.

The nominations shall be evaluated by a panel of Jurors from steel plants, refractory manufacturing and research. The selected candidate shall be a guest for ICRJ-26 and will be awarded with a citation, a plaque and a cash prize of Rs.20,000.
