While we are several
decades removed from the
historic passage of the
Civil Rights Act and
have the first African
American President,
racism continues to be a
major barrier to
regional equity and
opportunity in our
country. And today, in a
post 9/11 society, fear
of other cultures and
faith traditions has
meant that too many
minority communities
(culturally and
religiously) are facing
increased discrimination
and bigotry. Hence one
can argue that the
important work of the
Interfaith Center for
Racial Justice (formed
in 1968) has never been
more important. As a
member of the ICRJ you
actively support
programming and
activities necessary to
build bridges of
understanding, foster
peacemaking, insure
justice, and celebrate
diversity.
Important sources of
funding for the ICRJ are
individual, family, and
organizational members.
As an individual,
family, or youth member
you will benefit from
direct notification of
ICRJ programming and
events, invitations to
member appreciation
activities, and member
discounts to ICRJ
resources, programming,
and materials.
Organizational members
of the ICRJ likewise
will also be able to
take advantage of these
member benefits, and
also have their
organization listed on
ICRJ’s letterhead both
signaling the values of
and advertising their
organization.
